Luigi Cagnola

Permanent

Luigi Cagnola is a fundamental figure of Milanese Neoclassicism: proclaimed himself, diminishing himself as an “amateur architect” and considered by most to be a minor artist, he left his mark on numerous palaces and monuments, starting with the unitary complex of the Arco della Pace and the two customs toll booths.

Almost 260 years after his birth in 1762, the exhibition, divided into 4 sections, tells the life and works of a personality who contributed to making Milan and Italy great. The museum itinerary winds along the perimeter of the Ponente toll booth.
